Felsi Boldt

Description

Felsi Boldt describes her parents’ move from Germany to Hamilton in 1899 to homestead in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. Boldt remembers the logging her father did on their homestead. She recalls attending the Sawtooth school and talks about some of her teachers. She describes how the school was designed with a well in the cloak room and stables added on to the end. She also mentions how one teacher encouraged the children to bring things they could cook for lunch, instead of cold lunches.
