The Gathering: Collected Oral Histories of the Irish in Montana is a long-term interdisciplinary oral history project fostered in 2009 by the University of Montana’s Irish Studies department. The Gathering seeks to record and to archive the Montana Irish and Irish-American folk histories, memories, practices, and traditions. To date over 100 interviews have been placed in The Gathering oral history collection (OH-435) within Archives and Special Collections, Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, University of Montana.
