Abstract

The article describes a teaching technique that improves the clinical decision-making skills and emergency care skills of athletic training (AT) students. A scenario or simulation of a rescue work involving an AT student and a mock patient is provided. It cites experience, knowledge of the student and educational needs as key factors to consider in designing scenarios. Information on the debriefing aspect of the technique is also given, along with the challenges posed by this technique.
