Description
Professor Terrence McGlynn narrates this episode about the Montana ghost towns of Highland and Pony. Student George Lubick explains that of the 300 building that once existed in Highland, only a few remain. He discusses the town’s history and significant people such as Jonny Kern who found a five-pound gold nugget in 1908. Rick Gleason explains that Pony still has 15 residents. He discusses quartz mining operations and the establishment of a Northern Pacific Railroad branch line and post office in Pony.
