Diane Pryce talks about being the first woman smokejumper in California in 1983 and describes her two seasons there. She discusses the discrimination she faced, including her first unsuccessful attempt at being a smokejumper in Missoula, Montana, in 1982. Pryce talks about the attitudes of male smokejumpers toward women jumpers and offers advice to other women considering a career in smokejumping.
