Description

Donal Halloran discusses his time working as a smokejumper from 1953 to 1955. He describes the relationships between different groups of smokejumpers including college students and World War Two veterans, as well as smokejumpers from different parts of the United States. Halloran talks about training at the Nine Mile Ranger Station in Montana, and how smokejumping impacted him.
