OH 408-03a/b: A two-part interview. In part one, Stearns describes her experience as an undergraduate and graduate student at The University of Montana, focusing on the History, English and Education Departments. She describes her work as Head of the UM Alumni Office and as Vice President of the University. In part two, Stearns explains her work as Commissioner for Higher Education, working as a liaison between President Dennison (and other chief executives in the Montana University System), the Board of Regents, and the State Legislature. Stearns also discusses general university trends and the 2004 audit of UM’s Athletic Department.
