The 77th Annual James R. Browning Distinguished Lecture in Law featured Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Sutton spoke about “51 Imperfect Solutions: States and the Making of American Constitutional Law,” based upon his upcoming book of the same title.

Judge Sutton has served on the 6th Circuit since 2003. Before that, he was the State Solicitor of Ohio and a partner at Jones Day in Columbus. Sutton clerked for Supreme Court Justices Lewis Powell and Antonin Scalia.
