Orvin Fjare begins by describing how he became interested in politics. He explains how the Anaconda Company's support helped him get elected to the U.S. Congress in 1954. Later he describes how the Anaconda Company's intense oversight and pressure led him to break off the relationship. Fjare discusses his relationships with Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, and Ford. He describes his involvement with the Yellowtail Dam project and other major issues during his time in Congress.
