Interviewed by Bob Brown on August 1, 2008. Paynter discusses her experiences relating to financial affairs in the Montana legislature over more than 25 years. She explains her fiscal responsibilities including budget preparation, tax increases, and revenue estimation. She discusses Governors Schwinden, Stephens, Racicot, Martz, and Schweitzer comparing administrations and their general effectiveness as governor. Judy Paynter is a former legislative fiscal analyst and deputy budget director.
