Hawks discusses his first congressional race in 1948 and many of the politicians he served with; the influence of the Anaconda Company and Montana Power Company on state politics and the lobbyists who worked for them; the establishment of the prison ranch in Deer Lodge; the peyote bill; Yellowtail Dam bill; Montana Stock Growers Association; the Public Utility District bill; and Montana governors and other politicians he served with in the House. Clyde Hawks is a former Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives and Speaker of the House, 1961.
