William Dufresne, Margaret Dufresne, and Julia Van Holt share their childhood memories of growing up in the Frenchtown Valley in Montana during the early 20th century. They talk about attending one-room schools in Frenchtown and Huson, as well as their neighbors including the Jettes, Slocums, and Matts. They discuss mail delivery, the railroad trestle bridge located between the Scheffer and Rose homesteads, and the gold delivery system from prospectors at Martina to the stamp mill. William Dufresne shares stories about working as a sawyer with his brothers and father. Only a transcript of this interview exists. The audio is missing.
