Description

Echizen-yaki is known for high fired, unglazed natural stoneware finishes and firewood ash glaze. Ash used in the firing adheres to the clay body and turns into a glaze-like decoration.

Large cone shaped vase that flares drastically from the base. The vase is a dark grey color with brown mottling in some spots. There is light ribbing that can be seen on the interior and exterior of the vase which is a result of the original throwing process that created the vase. Echizen-yaki.
