Description
Vase is pure white, glazed in a mat finish. Rose on the vase was glazed in a gloss finish. The vase tapers at the neck before flaring out slightly at the rim again.
Presented to Mike Mansfield by Takako Doi at the 1991 Mansfield Conference in Missoula. Miss Doi was the Chairman of the Social Democratic Party from 1986-1991, the first woman to head a major political party in Japan. She was the speaker of the Diet. the Japanese parliament from 1993-1996.
