Hanging calligraphy scroll titled "As Swift as the Wind." The calligraphy is black against a white background and is mounted on a green and gold brocade.
The scroll reads:
"As swift as the wind
As quiet as the forest
As piercing as fire
As steady as the Mountain"
This is a famous saying by Shingen Takeda describing his strategy. Takeda was a warrior born in the Kai province with his original name being Taro. Shingen engaged in a series of battles in an effort to unify the feudal lords at Kyoto.
