Description

Professor Terrence McGlynn narrates this episode about the Montana ghost towns of Castle, Neihart, and Landusky. Student Elaine Hardy recalls Castle’s population boom in 1891, which resulted from the areas led and silver deposits, and note that there are very few remains of the town. Dr. Jack Goebel talks about Neihart ghost town and explain that residents had mined for a variety of metals but silver was the most lucrative. He explains that Neihart is still a mining and resort town with a population of 109 people. Student Marlys Handsen describes the town of Landusky and mention “Pike” Landusky and Bob Orrman who founded it in 1893. He concludes by discussing the Curry gang which operated in the town and explain that the town is still populated today.
