Claire Rhein discusses volunteering at the University of Montana's Archives and Special Collections in the Mansfield Library and how she created the oral history program in 1978. Rhein and Dale Johnson describe how Archives and Special Collections increased access to its oral history interviews by uploading catalog records of the interviews into a national database. The two also discuss the origins of particular oral history collections: Mike Mansfield Political Speeches and Interviews (OH 022), Smokejumpers 1984 Reunion (OH 133), Twentieth Century Montana Fur Trappers (OH 099), and Depression Years in Montana (OH 131).
