Rod and June Ash recall buying their house in Condon, Montana, in 1970 and immediately starting their garden, growing bush beans, turnips, carrots, kale, potatoes, tomatoes, and other vegetables. They discuss preservation methods, particularly freezing. The Ashes describe gardening issues in the Swan Valley, Montana, which include dealing with wildlife, gardening without pesticides or herbicides, watering methods, using raised beds, and types of fencing.
