The Associated Women Students (AWS) organization at the University of Montana (called Montana State University from 1935-1965) was active from 1914 until 1969. All female students at the University of Montana were considered members of the organization which was overseen by the associate dean of students. Each year AWS produced a handbook for incoming freshman women intended to help them transition smoothly into college life. The handbook covered topics such as campus resources for the young women, rules to follow, and school traditions as well as clubs, sports teams, and honors societies to join. This collection includes handbooks from 1919 to 1963.
