Montana Educators Oral History Project

This collection of interviews details the lives and teaching experiences of men and women who taught school in Montana during the early- to mid-20th century. The interviews were conducted from 1988 to 1991 by Gladys Peterson. The interviewees discuss what inspired them to become educators, relate anecdotes about their time in the classroom, and describe how the education system has evolved since they started teaching. The original interviews are held as Oral History collection OH 211 at Archives and Special Collections, Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, the University of Montana.
