Description
Eva Cross details running the ice cream parlor she owned in California before World War Two. She recalls how she had to sell the business after the U.S. entered the war due to the rationing of butter and sugar. Cross described the various jobs she and her husband worked during the war, including at Douglas Aircraft during World War Two, before deciding to breed and sell chinchillas. Cross discusses the family’s eventual relocation to Red Lodge, Montana, and how much she enjoyed raising chinchillas. She briefly mentions the mining industry in Red Lodge during the late 18th and early 19th century. Cross concludes by telling how she and her husband met and married.
