Abstract
Opinion piece discusses the impacts of Uber's California Ballot Initiative which would cap attorneys' contingency fees in car accident cases to twenty-five percent of recovery. The article asserts that cap would like lead to more meritorious cases being rejected by lawyers because the economics of the case don't make sense to bring the case to court for the lawyer or the plaintiff. This would lead to less access to justice for underserved groups and more harm borne by the consumer.
