Abstract
This article examines a Stanford Law School report on mental health screening in lawyer licensing. It finds that states have largely abandoned broad inquiries into bar applicants’ mental health histories but continue targeted screening practices. The report highlights ongoing concerns about stigma, deterrence of treatment, effectiveness, and fairness in bar admissions.
