Description

Peggy DeMichele discusses her tenure as Senator Mike Mansfield’s secretary. She describes her duties, primarily handling Montana affairs, as well as the Vietnam War, Senator Mansfield’s relationship with President John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, and Senator Mansfield’s time as the Senate Majority Leader. DeMichele also discusses the scrapbooks she kept detailing the Senator’s public service.
