Description
Reverend David Blackwell discusses his experiences as a Griz football fan and the role of college sports within small communities. As a long-time Griz fan, Blackwell describes the stadium experience at the University of Montana and provides some context on the administrative aspects of sports teams from his perspective. Similarly, he explains why he prefers to tune into games on the radio rather than watching them on television. He also discusses the role of religion and comments on theology as it relates to living in present-day Missoula and its hinterlands. Jacob Shropshire was a graduate student working on the Griz Nation Oral History Project as part of the Griz130 History Initiative.
