Review of A Symphony of Possibilities: A Handbook for Arts Integration in Secondary English Language Arts edited by Katherine J. Macro & Michelle Zoss. The collection offers a rich resource for ELA classrooms. Grounded in research and proven successful in secondary classrooms, the approaches reflected on in this volume address complexities of texts, demands for rigor and high-order thinking, and foster creativity. Teachers share concrete ways that integrating drama, music, drawing, visual responses, and poetry have engaged students and deepened learning.
