Stan Logan discusses opening his shoe repair business in 1979 Missoula, Montana. He describes working with Hide and Sole, a shoe company also based in Missoula and how economic conditions have changed in Montana since he first opened. He discusses how his clientele used to consist largely of loggers, and describes the logging business, farmers, and sugar beet growers who used to be active in the Missoula area. He also discusses the influence of chain stores on small businesses and his thoughts on living in Missoula, Montana.
