Description
Rose Bryant describes working as a silent movie player at a theater in Three Forks, Montana. She recalls sometimes being accompanied by other musicians and playing for the Rangers Annual Ball at Yellowstone National Park. Bryant discusses popular silent movie stars and films before offering her opinions on Prohibition in Montana and the common practice of home-brewing and winemaking. She talks about how her silent movie playing changed with the rise of talking pictures, which prompted her to leave Three Forks to play in other Montana towns and work in different theaters seven days a week. Bryant then describes the popularity of the circus coming to Montana, how her mother made everyone dress up for the occasion, and the vehicles used by the traveling performers. She ends the interview by playing the piano.
