Description
Donna Erickson describes growing up in the North Hills of Missoula as a young child and learning to bake from her father at their restaurant the Trail Café. She talks about attending Lowell School and Hellgate High School and riding horses working the family’s ranch. She discusses training racehorses and participating in Ridge Runners, a 4H club in the 1960s and 1970s where she worked with sheep and cattle. Erickson recalls the basic geography of the Rattlesnake area during her childhood and mentions her friendships with neighbors from surrounding ranches including the Randolphs, the Carters, and the Spurlocks. Erickson concludes by describing the expansion of downtown Missoula and the North Hills during her lifetime.
