Jeannie Thompson of Bozeman examines her career working at the University of Montana, first as the office manager of the News and Publications Office and then as the Administrative Assistant of the O’Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West. She explains her duties in the office and elaborates on several ways she supported the center’s personnel from 1996 to 2014. Thompson then explains how she assisted leading directors and fellows such as Bill Farr and Pat Williams with their research and the center’s programing. Distinct from the other oral histories in this collection, Jeannie Thompson expounds upon the O’Connor Center from a managerial and administrative perspective. She shares exciting stories about the odd personalities that she interacted with at the old Milwaukee Train Station along the Clark Fork River in Missoula.
