Description
Mary Venegas reflects on her childhood in Caracas, Venezuela, and her relationships with family members. She discusses the challenges she faced after coming out, particularly in her relationship with her mother, and how that relationship ultimately healed over time. Venegas also speaks about her experiences as a queer immigrant in the United States and describes how the community she found in Missoula, Montana helped her find language to express the full complexity of her identity. express herself. In addition, Venegas discusses her master's research documenting the environmental impacts of mining in Anaconda, Montana, with a particular focus on songbird populations.
