Description
Shaunagh Mary (she/her) is the mother of a trans child and spouse to a trans partner. She discusses her experiences moving from New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Montana and how that’s impacted her own understanding of her identity. Shaunagh briefly joined AmeriCorps, earned a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Montana (UM), and currently lives in Chicago. They chose Chicago because of its LGBTQ+ protections as well as job and education opportunities. While living in Missoula she worked for the Student Advocacy Resource Center at UM and describes feeling connected to the queer community in Missoula, something that she feels is lacking in Chicago.
