Description
Ace Nielsen discusses becoming a smokejumper in 1946 after returning from World War Two. He describes training at the Nine Mile Ranger Station in Montana and being stationed in McCall, Idaho from 1946 to 1948. Nielsen recalls his experiences fighting fires. He also talks about the other military veterans who served as smokejumpers and the social aspect of the program.
