The interviews in There I Was: Collected Oral Histories of Smokejumpers were conducted by John B. Driscoll in 2014. The interviewees are former smokejumpers who talked about their smokejumping experiences as well as what they did before and after smokejumping. The collection of interviews is part of the National Smokejumper Association Records held by the Mansfield Library’s Archives and Special Collections. The original interviews are held as Oral History collection OH 490 at Archives and Special Collections, Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, the University of Montana.
