Keynote: Conceptions of Creativity: How do Ideas Survive, Mutate, and Propagate? Bharath Sriraman UC Theater 12:20 PM - 1:30 PM In this talk, different confluence theories of creativity from psychology and sociology are surveyed to understand how creativity functions at the individual, institutional and societal levels. Contemporary examples from the world of innovation, in addition to the history of science and mathematics, will be used to unpack the various constructs involved in the study of creativity, with the purpose of giving a bird’s eye view of how ideas survive, mutate and propagate in academic scholarship and in industrial/private sector innovation. |
