Description

Emma Lommasson recalls growing up in Sand Coulee, Montana, in the 1920s and ‘30s, and coming to the University of Montana [UM] in Missoula, Montana to study mathematics. She discusses finishing her undergraduate degree and working as a secretary for Professor Nels J. Lennes while she completed her master’s in the mid-20th century. Lommasson recounts her interactions with various University presidents, and her impressions of them and their staff. She discusses Dr. Lennes’ involvement with the Paul Phillips sexual harassment scandal, and recalls her work with World War Two veterans and ROTC students.
