Abstract
A Document Based Question (DBQ) designed for nineth to twelfth grade students in African American Studies curriculum. The DBQ question is "Why did the Civil Rights Movement form, and how did it reach its objectives? Students will have eleven sources that they will connect to a five-paragraph essay, as well as use outside information to formulate their responses. The outside information is given throughout a four-week lesson plan that is provided for educators to use. Each lesson plan has an objective, success criteria, and steps for how to conduct the lesson. All necessary resources for each lesson are provided.
