Description
In this interview, Aidan Purchio discusses working for Winegardner’s Wines in Montana. She talks about having experience in the restaurant industry, but she didn’t have experience with wine when she was hired at Winegardner’s. Purchio says that before the COVID-19 pandemic, their business was split evenly between restaurants and retail stores, However, during the pandemic, their business shifted mostly to retail. Purchio reflects that Winegardner’s filled sample hot sauce bottles filled with wine and then delivered them to clients for them to sample and consider purchasing. Also, Purchio says that group meetings with accounts about purchasing wine changed to individual meetings with specific accounts. And she Purchio discusses having a baby in 2020 during the pandemic, and after that, contracting COVID-19 which affected her taste and smell. She was able to retrain her senses so that she could smell and taste wine again.
