Abstract
What Do You Do Every Day is a collection of poems that question the narrator’s understanding of self and her general life after having been put through a trauma. Following the narrator from a specific point of physical assault, through the following months of post-traumatic stress disorder and recovery, these poems challenge how we define ourselves and our worth in the face of trauma altering identity. Using surreal and queer aesthetics, this manuscript disrupts the understanding of the self as the self is first split and then forced to reconcile with itself.
