Abstract

This study focused on the attitudes toward professional preparation by secondary social studies teachers practicing in the State of Montana who graduated before 1972 from Montana institutions of higher education which train social studies teachers. Special attention was given to teachers' attitudes toward their training in the social studies with respect to instruction, student needs and in professional development.
