Abstract

This portfolio reflects my development as a trauma-informed, justice-centered social work practitioner grounded in the context of Montana communities. Drawing on my experiences growing up in a rural environment and my graduate training in the University of Montana’s MSW program, this work highlights my commitment to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use, mental health challenges, and systemic barriers.

Guided by the Five Elements of Advanced Integrated Practice, this portfolio demonstrates growth across ethical practice, social justice advocacy, culturally responsive care, research-informed decision-making, and collaborative leadership. Through coursework and practicum experience at Winds of Change Mental Health Center, I have developed skills in engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation while maintaining a harm-reduction and strengths-based approach.

This work emphasizes the importance of critical self-reflection, understanding historical and systemic influences, and integrating micro and macro practice to promote meaningful change. It also reflects my ongoing commitment to Indigenous sovereignty, trauma-informed care, and equitable service delivery. Overall, this portfolio represents not only my academic and professional growth but also my dedication to community healing and ethical, culturally responsive social work practice.
