Shelley Kuntz discusses her experiences as a lifelong Griz and college football fan. In particular, Kuntz talks about how her mother instilled a love of the Griz and college sports in her from a young age. She talks about the rivalry between UM and MSU and the development of college and professional sports in the American West during her lifetime. Kuntz discusses the relationship between gender and sports fandom, football (and college sports in general) as a tool for community building, and UM football coach Bobby Hauck. Interviewer Ilena Levitt was an undergraduate student working on the Griz Nation Oral History Project as part of the Griz130 History Initiative.
