Description

Scroll in black and white calligraphy by Tainan Sasaki, one of the foremost calligraphers of Japan. Some of his works are in the Congressional Library in Washington, D.C. and in other museums and libraries throughout the world. There is one character literally meaning "to burn." By inference, it may mean "to achieve." Black ink on a paper type material mounted on a purple silk with a cream and gold brocade edging. The scroll is weighted by a wooden dowel.
