This collection includes interviews with current and former professors, administrators, deans, and presidents from the University of Montana. The interviews were conducted by historian David Brooks in late 2006 and early 2007. Interviewees discuss their educational backgrounds, career development, and how they came to be associated with the University of Montana. They also discuss general university trends; changes to the University over time in terms of size, funding structures, and faculty congeniality; the history, development, and challenges of various University departments and programs; activism on campus; inter- and intra-departmental relationships; the development of the undergraduate curriculum; personal teaching experiences; and the conditions and history of the University administration. The original interviews are held as Oral History collection OH-408 at Archives & Special Collections, Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, the University of Montana.
