Description
Ward Powell discusses his educational background and how he came to work at the University of Montana as a professor of German. He describes being hired at the University in 1955, his colleagues in the Foreign Languages Department, as well as the changes he witnessed in the department and the University during his tenure and after his retirement. Powell talks about the Study Abroad program and the addition of more languages as examples of the Foreign Language Department’s development. He emphasizes the change in faculty relationships that have accompanied the growth of the University.
