In this interview, Kenneth Lewis reflects on his military service, including his time in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Although he served only one year in Vietnam, he served a total of 11 years of active duty with the Army and six years with the National Guard. While in Vietnam, his assignment was driving a dump truck. He also served two three-year tours in Germany and, while there, drove a semi-truck. Lewis also discusses returning home after the Vietnam War and the protests and adverse reactions he encountered. He talks about using the G.I. Bill for education and VA loans to purchase homes.
