Description
Robert C. Reeve talks about his childhood in Waunakee, Wisconsin, where he became known as a champion skunk trapper. He talks about joining the military at the age of 15 before studying law at the University of Wisconsin. Reeve talks about teaching himself to fly in 1926 and, later, flying planes during World War Two and how he became an honorary member of the 317th Tactical Fighter Squadron, earning the nickname Sink Fink. Reeve talks about his experiences in the Boone and Crockett Club and his efforts in getting the fair chase deal passed. He mentions committees he’s supported, including the records committee and his receipt of the first-ever Sagamore Hill medal. Reeve talks about the Club’s conservation efforts related to polar bears, the Craighead grizzly study in Montana, and the Rampart Dam study. He discusses his involvement in other conservation groups such as the Alaska Big Game Trophy Club. Reeve discusses his time as director of the National Rifle Association [NRA] and his views of trophy hunting and the role of hunters in wildlife conservation.
