Description
In this interview, Acton Seibel talks about being born female to a black mother and a white father who would eventually divorce. When Seibel’s mother has a mental episode and runs away, Seibel goes to live with his father in Billings, Montana, when he is in the eighth grade. Seibel discusses that his father was gay and about growing up in a gay household, and what a positive experience that was. He mentions how his father was doing outreach to people with HIV and AIDS in the gay community and trying to get resources from the state of Montana for prevention and to use for people with HIV and AIDS. While in high school, Seibel comes out, and he eventually transitions while living in Montana. He then attends the writing program at the University of Montana. He discusses online dating, highlighting both its positive and negative aspects, and Seibel also talks about his struggles with depression and anxiety.
